Rafiah Yam
The most western community in the State of Israel was founded in 5744 (1984) as a mixed community.
In late 1991, the residents, some 25 families, moved into their new homes in the permanent location.
Most of the settlers made a living from advanced greenhouse agriculture. The settlement also comprised of privately owned sewing workshops that sold their products to the leading fashion chains in Israel, and some freelancers.
