Netzer Hazani
The first community in Gush Katif.  Founded as a settlement named Katif.
Ahead of its formal inauguration, the name was changes to Netzer Hazani after the late welfare minister, Michael Hazani, who received the title "Leader of the Religious Settlement" and was one of the zealous supporters of striking roots in that region.
In February 1977, a group of 12 families moved to the community's permanent location after preparations in Kfar Darom.
